Once Upon A Time the Price Fairy knew some people who loved Halloween and decorating for Halloween. So one day she came to the shop and lo and behold we had a cemetery and an alien autopsy going on here!!!!
Regular visitors to Janet's will remember resident cockatiels Rosie and Buddy and their amorous antics! Well, on November 18, 2011, their little baby bird Sunflower was born, and we couldn't be prouder. Of course we celebrated her five month birthday this April (any excuse for chocolate cake!). In the meanwhile, Antique Man Cliff scores several Bakelite bangles, including a tomato red chain link bracelet, and Suzanne shows how to test that they are really Bakelite. Dale makes an appearance with some of his latest finds too. All in all, a busy, fun day at Janet's.
The Price Fairy has arrived! We've been anticipating her arrival for days, and she is finally here! It seems so rude to call her a "sign" when she has so much personality. Watch as the fine team from Sign-A-Rama, who custom crafted her, installs the Price Fairy in her new home.
We think our Jewelry Queen Tawny is one of the best jewelry dealers ever. With her consort Nick, she spent weeks touring the East Coast, and shopping the whole time - our dream vacation - lucky girl! She found wonderful Victorian, Yasca, Kenneth J. Lane, Shriner, Taxco treasures and really too many others to list. They're now on display, so stop by soon and see how gorgeous they look on you!
(P.S. Watch for the youngest and cutest antique shopper around - baby Jack)
Darling Pumpkin gets plenty of love when Andy arrives. She doesn't pay much attention to what he is bringing in, but the rest of us sure do! His $5 jewelry usually sells out so fast that people in the know follow him in to get first pick.
I know this isn't the kind of video you'd expect from an antique shop (maybe don't watch it if you're not over 18) - but it just goes to show that you never know what will happen in life. A year ago I didn't know or plan that we would have two rescued cockatiels in the shop making whoopee. And another first. Buddy shows his glee at the end with a wolf whistle - never heard that before!!!!!
We always look forward to George's return from his buying trips out west. This time his travels took him all the way to Seattle, Washington. With Dale's assistance, he brought into our shop a wonderful solid teak bar, mod chrome furniture, Turner flamingo mirrors, Blenko glassware, and lots of other cool and funky things!
